Yasla 3.7: macOS 12 and new features
October 2021
After a little bit rough beta phase of Apple’s new operating system, Yasla Pro and Yasla Lab are compatible with macOS 12 Monterey.
Also, the new Yasla versions have received further adjustments to the ‘look and feel’ of macOS and new features:
- Yasla Lab: In labs with guest user accounts, a user picture can now optionally be taken with the camera when starting Yasla (in addition to entering the user name). This picture will appear at the instructor’s workstation instead of the generic ‘anonymous’ user icon. The picture is deleted again when Yasla is closed.
- Duplication of tracks - previously only possible with text tracks - is now available for all types of tracks.
- Import and export of SRT subtitle files: This feature is connected to the Speech-to-Text conversion. Some speech recognition services allow the recognized text to be exported with time markers as SubRipTitle (.srt) files. These files can now be imported into Yasla as text tracks and text tracks can be exported as SRTs, which may also be useful on other occasions.
The new versions are available for download or via the integrated update functionality.
